Privacy Policy for THROUGH
Effective Date: November 3, 2026
THROUGH is a prayer-support application designed to help people begin praying when they do not know what to say. We recognize that prayer can involve deeply personal information, including religious beliefs, emotions, relationships, fears, struggles, and other sensitive circumstances.
This Privacy Policy explains what information THROUGH may process, why we process it, how it is handled, and the choices available to you.
By using THROUGH, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information You Provide
Prayer and reflection content
When you type into THROUGH, you may provide information about what is on your heart, including thoughts, emotions, circumstances, prayer requests, questions, or other personal information.
Because THROUGH is a prayer application, this content may reveal sensitive information, including religious or philosophical beliefs.
THROUGH uses this information only as necessary to provide the feature you requested, such as:
- generating prayer starters or prayer guidance;
- identifying themes or needs expressed in your input;
- identifying relevant Scripture;
- generating related explanations or reflections;
- providing safety-oriented responses when appropriate.
We do not sell your prayer content.
We do not use your prayer content for advertising.
We do not use your prayer content to build advertising profiles about you.
Content you choose to save
Some THROUGH features allow you to intentionally save information, such as prayers, prayer requests, prayer lists, or prayer-journey entries.
Saved content is retained so that the app can provide the feature you requested and allow you to return to that content later.
Where deletion controls are available in the app, deleting saved content removes it from the associated THROUGH experience.
2. Artificial Intelligence Processing
THROUGH uses artificial intelligence to provide certain prayer-related features.
When an AI-powered feature is used, the text needed to fulfill your request may be securely transmitted to THROUGH's backend infrastructure and to third-party AI service providers used to generate the requested response.
These providers process the information on THROUGH's behalf for purposes such as generating prayer guidance, matching or discussing Scripture, and providing related app functionality.
THROUGH does not authorize its AI providers to use your prayer content for advertising.
Where OpenAI's API services are used, OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models unless the customer explicitly opts in to data sharing. OpenAI also states that standard API abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days unless different retention controls apply.
THROUGH may change or add infrastructure or AI providers as the service develops. This Privacy Policy will be updated when those changes materially affect how your information is handled.
3. Backend and Infrastructure Providers
THROUGH may use third-party infrastructure providers to operate the app, securely route requests, perform server-side processing, and provide other technical functionality.
These providers may process limited information necessary to perform those services on our behalf.
For example, THROUGH uses backend infrastructure to securely process requests between the app and AI services rather than placing private AI credentials directly inside the mobile application.
Third-party providers are expected to handle information consistently with their contractual and legal privacy obligations.
4. Information We Do Not Use for Advertising
THROUGH does not use your prayer activity to track you across unrelated apps or websites.
THROUGH does not sell your personal information to data brokers, advertisers, or other parties for targeted advertising.
THROUGH does not operate an advertising network inside the app.
5. Analytics and Tracking
THROUGH is designed to minimize unnecessary collection of user information.
THROUGH does not use prayer content for advertising analytics or behavioral advertising.
If analytics, diagnostics, or similar technologies are added in the future, this Privacy Policy and applicable App Store disclosures will be updated before those practices are relied upon in production.
6. Device Permissions
THROUGH may request access to certain device capabilities when necessary for a feature.
Permissions are requested for the purpose described when the permission is presented.
You can generally change app permissions through your device settings.
We do not use device permissions to collect information unrelated to the feature for which permission was requested.
7. Health Information
THROUGH does not currently require users to provide health information in order to use its core prayer features.
If optional health-related functionality is introduced in the future, such as an Apple Health-based prayer reminder, health information will be handled according to the privacy disclosures presented with that feature.
Our intended design for health-triggered prayer reminders is to process the relevant health event locally and privately on the device rather than sending heart-rate data to AI providers, backend databases, or analytics services.
This Privacy Policy will be updated before any materially different health-data practice is introduced.
8. Purchases and Subscriptions
Draft notice: The supplied privacy policy text ends here. Section 8 and any subsequent sections need to be completed before publication.
